Shoulder Pain Relief

What’s the best solution for shoulder pain relief?

For recent injuries where you need quick shoulder pain relief, ICE is always the best thing to try first.  Why?  Because ice will help take down the swelling and inflammation that you find in acute traumas that is causing your pain.  Use it for 20 minutes until the area feels numb.  Leave it off for 40 minutes and repeat the next hour if needed.

For injuries that never healed right and are now chronic, heat works better.  Moist heat penetrates deeper than dry heat.

For injuries that involve the shoulder I also recommend acupuncture.

Why acupuncture for shoulder pain relief?

In all my years of practice, I have found acupuncture for shoulder pain to be very effective, especially in the treatment of bursitis.

What is Acupuncture?

An ancient Chinese practice of stimulating points on the skin to help cure disease or relieve pain.  It has been performed for thousands of years and is based on energy flow or “Chi” in the body.  Traditionally needles have been used.

How does it work?

Energy flows into the points stimulated and affects the body’s response to inflammation.

Electrical acupuncture

Instead of using needles we use a machine which has a 9 volt battery and a wet Q-tip to zap the acupuncture points. Very effective acupuncture for shoulder pain.

Where did you learn Acupuncture Dr. Ebeling?

I have a well respected teacher Dr. John Amaro, who has been doing acupuncture and lecturing since the 1970’s. He has studied acupuncture all over the world, including China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam.  He taught me the Shoulder “miracle points” that work very well.
