Types of Headaches based on location
When a person tells me they have headaches the first thing I want to know is what part of the head do the headaches seem to affect?
Is it the front of the head, the back of the head, the side of the head, or the whole head?
The reason is because different areas have a different cause.
Frontal headaches
Usually can be from eye strain or being dehydrated.
Headaches in back of the head
Typically can start from problems in the neck.
Side of the head
Headaches here associated with the jaw. The four muscles that move the jaw attach to the skull. Clenching can affect the individual bones of the skull causing headache.
We can test them using muscle testing. In the chiropractic world, we call this technique Applied Kinesiology.
Headaches are not caused by Tylenol deficiency
If you are suffering from chronic headaches it would be worth your while to get checked out to see what might be causing them. Taking medication just to cover them up is not going to solve it and in the long run it takes a toll on your liver and kidneys.
